As per the announcement on the homepage pop-up it IS with great sadness that I must announce the passing of my father and our
Head of State, Prince Lazarus of New Utopia, on Thursday 26th April 2012.
The Prince Lazarus has led the most demanding effort of raising our new Nation from the waves with great wisdom and the purest of hearts and will be forever with us in
continuing the journey hereinafter. I intend to do all in my power to fulfil his dream and will try my best to lead a good example of the way he rallied round support from
all those supporters of New Utopia.
His First Knight, Sir Antony Nicodemous, has launched a Book of Condolences and we invite you to convey your thoughts and memories therein.
I have flown down to Bonita Springs in Florida where my father is and am busily organizing his affairs as well as the memorial service for the 4th May 2012. I will also be
arranging a meeting of all Government Board Members, Ambassadors and other VIP's and will advise accordingly. Rest assured that, over the years, I have been kept fully
appraised of my fathers efforts and those of his closest advocates. I will be dealing with mountains of backlogged messages both telephone and email.
Further news will be announced on this page as it develops.
Prince John Long.
FAMILY MEMORIAL SERVICE:
This will be held on Friday, 4th May at 7pm and will be a Cremation as per my fathers wishes - He has also asked that his ashes be taken to the New Utopia territory and scattered there. This will be a private family only ceremony. An Official Memorial is also being organized...

The driving force behind New Utopia was Prince Lazarus Long. He was an entrepreneur all his life. At the time of his passing he was aged 80, "going on 50." Before he legally had his name changed, he was known as Howard Turney.
As Howard Turney, (the Prince) he was the former Chairman of the Board of Mayday USA, Inc., he was the Founder and Chairman of El Dorado Clinics, Was the founder and Chairman of Cryogenics Solutions Inc., Former President and CEO of Cogeneration Systems International, and Former Chairman, CEO of Power Resources Systems. Mr. Long was the Founder and is Chairman of The Rejuvenation and Longevity Foundation a non-profit Corporation. He is a member ofMENSA, the World Mariculture Society and the International Cogeneration Society.
He had received many honors and is listed inWho's Whoin American Business Leaders, The International Directory of Distinguished Leaders, Who’s Who in Finance and Industry,Who’s Who in The Southwestand The Cambridge Directory of Who’s Who, 1997 edition. The companies he has founded include food manufacturing (3), Restaurants, mariculture, personal security, medical clinics, and a medical service company. (There will be a medical center specializing in anti-aging medicine on New Utopia.)
He has been involved with the medical field for the last several years in the anti-aging area of medicine, and as Howard Turney had received a great deal of television exposure and travelled world wide, appearing on television and radio shows as a spokesperson in the anti-aging field of medicine… so much so, in fact, that his name regularly appears in books and educational television documentaries on the subject. He became known within the field as “The Father of Human Growth Hormone,” due to his having pioneered and promoted its use in anti-aging medicine.
When he shifted his career path to pioneering a new country; one with a stable, free-market economy, Mr. Turney realized his name recognition in the anti-aging medicine field could be a detriment to the founding citizen’s goals in establishing the new country. He felt that it was imperative that New Utopia not be perceived as simply another offshore medical facility, but primarily as a banking and insurance center, as well as a Caribbean playground and rejuvenation clinic.
This is the reason he chose to change his name. He chose the name of the fictional character because as he was portrayed, he held similar philosophies to Mr. Turney. Of course, all of this will become common knowledge, but as he says, “It seemed like a good idea at the time, and I do not regret having taken this step, a new career path, a new name. It seems fitting.”
